Atchley Hydraulics History

Raymond Atchley founded Atchley Controls and spearheaded Jet-Pipe servo valves development and production. The first Jet-pipe servo valve was introduced in 1957. In 1998 Moog Hydraulics acquired Raytheon Aircraft’s Montek Division. Atchley Jet Pipe servo valves are now produced by Moog’s Industrial Controls Division.

Atchley Hydraulics Servo Valves

Atchley hydraulic servo valves features two-stage proportional flow control with a Jet Pipe First Stage. The first stage consists of a torque motor, Jet Pipe, and receiver. The body of the second stage includes the spool and sleeve assembly. Atchley Servo Valves are constructed for electro-hydraulic position, speed, and pressure. They are also designed for force control systems with medium dynamic response requirements.

Atchley servo valves are primarily for gas & steam turbines. Industries using them include metal, wood and paper processing as well as plastics. Servo valves are a perfect solution for closed-loop control applications. They are excellent for exact positional accuracy, repeatable velocity and predictable force. Technical information: Rated pressure up to – 350 bar/5000 psi, Rated flow up to – 151 LPM/40 GPM, Function – positioning, speed, and pressure, Size – SM4/10 – 40; SX4/20
