Atchley Hydraulics History
Raymond Atchley is a well-known name in the field of control systems engineering. He is the founder of Atchley Controls, a company that specializes in the development and production of cutting-edge control systems. Atchley is particularly known for his work in the development of Jet-Pipe servo valves, which revolutionized the way in which hydraulic and pneumatic control systems were designed and operated. The first Jet-Pipe servo valve was introduced in 1957, and it quickly gained recognition as an innovative and reliable solution for precise control of fluid flow. Atchley’s contribution to the field of control systems engineering is widely recognized and celebrated, and his legacy continues to inspire and inform new developments in this field today. Through his innovative work, Raymond Atchley has left an indelible mark on the world of engineering, and his contributions continue to shape the way we design and operate hydraulic control systems.
Atchley Hydraulics Servo Valves
Atchley hydraulic servo valves feature two-stage proportional flow control with a Jet Pipe First Stage. The first stage consists of a torque motor, Jet Pipe, and receiver. The body of the second stage includes the spool and sleeve assembly. The Atchley Servo Valves are constructed for the electro-hydraulic position, speed, and pressure. They are also designed for force control systems with medium dynamic response requirements.
Atchley servo valves are primarily for gas & steam turbines. Industries using them include metal, wood, and paper processing as well as plastics. Servo valves are a perfect solution for closed-loop control applications. They are excellent for exact positional accuracy, repeatable velocity, and predictable force. Technical information: Rated pressure up to – 350 bar/5000 psi, Rated flow up to – 151 LPM/40 GPM, Function – positioning, speed, and pressure, Size – SM4/10 – 40; SX4/20
